Emily Kordovich is a director of photography based in Brooklyn, NY. They grew up a first-generation Macedonian immigrant in a small town outside Rochester, NY. Much of the work they have lensed focuses on immigrant stories, women’s stories, and queer stories; always with the goal of aiding the story and making people feel something with their visuals.

A recent project Emily lensed, One Million Girls, a sketch comedy pilot, won Best of Late Night at SeriesFest 2023. Other recent short films Emily has lensed include Remnants of Nova, The Captives, Crying on Command, You Mourn Weird, A Film About Fascism, and Other Half.

Emily was accepted into the ASC Vision Mentorship Program in 2023, and received the 2024 Fresh Perspectives in Cinematography Grant presented by AbelCine, Arri, and The ASC for the upcoming film, Remnants Of Nova. They have been living and working in New York, honing their storytelling skills and holistic approach to cinematography since graduating their undergrad at RIT with a BFA double major in Film & Animation (craft: Cinematography) and Advertising Photography. Their thesis film shot on 16mm, ELENA, was selected for the RIT Honors Show 2018 and was RIT’s selected participant for the international CILECT prize.

They’ve worked with clients such as MAC Cosmetics, Architectural Digest, Google, Danone, La Mer, Victoria’s Secret, The Zoe Report, Food & Wine, NYLON, Punch, VICE, Vox Media, Metropolis Report, NOTION, Bustle, Martha Stewart Living, Blue Diamond, and more.
